08:23 am: Update!
Hi, there.

It has been a LONG time since I posted, which is too bad. I still check here to see how you all are doing, but I haven't posted in, what, a year? yeesh.

I'm in Cape Town, South Africa for a three month stint with a theatre company down here, making a piece for the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. I'm also teaching kids drama and helping them put together a production. I'm currently living on a couch, which is not my favorite thing, but soon will be house-sitting. In august, I have a plane ticket back to London, but no idea what to do from there.

There you have it! Any ideas for august and after?

10:14 pm: Given to goodbyes
Tonight I'm packing. Huzzah! I'm not taking much, so all will be well. I'm taking 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair of culats, 1 skirt, 1 dress, a bunch of shirts, my ducky boxers, my jean jacket, my Carmen Sandiego coat, a toothbrish, some underwear and socks, my BEAUTIFUL new hiking sneakers and hiking sandals... that should do me, right?

I got an e-mail two days ago from my friend Antxon saying we'd have to meet in Barcelona instead of Madrid, so he's buying me a plane ticket from Madrid. So, my itinerary is as follows:

4:30 AM Tuesday - Leave my house in Santa Fe
7:45 AM Tuesday - Leave Albuquerque
12:00 PM Tuesday - Leave Houston
8:10 PM Tuesday - Leave New York
9:35 AM Wednesday - Arrive Madrid
15:45 Wednesday - leave Madrid
17:10 Wednesday - ARRIVE BARCELONA

hot damn.

I will, however, be sleeping in an apartment. That is a definite plus! I'm just thinking of this as a good time to let self relax and participate fully artistically, but not panic -at all-. Calm. Go with the flow. All will be well...

01:40 pm: Am here. Safe and sound. Excited and busy and getting stuff done and still kind of sad. That'll fade soon, which also makes me kind of sad. I had a stupidly productive day for being on no sleep at all, and have figured out internet and phones and called some folks about housing and got a european computer cord and took a series of photos of my octopus Harold.

So, I haven't done travel pictures, but I managed to get these put on cd. This is a temple at Delphi, which was built essentially as a billboard for Athens. Nifty, huh?

12:28 pm: I'm concerned that in my intense laziness (due chiefly to exhaustion after a long and glorious 2-4 AM phone call last night) has me overbooked for tommorow. I need to

-try for a bank account again
-vacuum
-shop for curry making materials
-finish cleaning up for said dinner
-try to find a way to get my resume out of wpd format
-do all the dishes
-find a way to feed 4 people in my very small room

07:35 am: Yesterday was a lovely day, with class, hours of homework, truly exciting unpacking/repacking (making me significantly less freaked out about leaving at the end of the week)all followed by a voyage into the old city to look at things, and take the Funiciular to see the city at night. We saw a great Scottish street performer and I played a bit with a Statue-man who was in full french clown garb. It made me so happy I can't explain. We looked at more art on Treasure Street, ate poutine and gelatto, then walked home.

I'm still just getting settled here. Do I have to leave this weekend?
